We’ll visit professional artists working in a variety of mediums to give you a terrific overview of what the area has to offer. This tour is a perfect way to get an introduction to the art scene here, while seeing some of the areas’ top talent.
The schedule is set with 3 different artists on each date, so please be sure to look at the description and links for each tour to see our lineup!
Tours begin at 9:30am and end at 1pm. Meet at the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce lower parking level, Exit 4C of I-240, 36 Montford Ave., and we'll ride together.

These tours are offered once a month, and have a set lineup of glass artists included. Each tour will visit 4 glass studios in the mountains of NC and we'll see what’s happening in these professional studios in this glass-centric region. Visits will include both sculptural and functional works by contemporary artists. See our artist lineup and click the links for more information. Tour, transportation and lunch included.
Glass Studios Tour - Day 2 option
See Chihuly at The Biltmore and try making glass yourself
You have the option of adding a second day to your glass tour! Book an extra day on the Saturday following the studio tour and we will go to the North Carolina Glass Center and have a hands-on experience of blowing glass. You can make a paperweight or an ornament and learn more of the intricacies of the art of glass by trying it yourself. We’ll have lunch, then continue our day by going to The Biltmore Estate; this tour will include admission to the Biltmore House and the Chihuly at Biltmore glass exhibition in the house and on the grounds. Transportation, lunch, hands-on experience and Biltmore ticket included.
Art & Agriculture Adventure Tour
Saturday Half-Day Tour, 1-5pm
This wonderful tour is a collaboration between Art Connections and Asheville Farm To Table Tours. Saturday tours begin at 1PM where we start by visiting one of the areas’ local pottery studios! Artists are passionate about sharing what they do. We’ll meet the potter and get a guided look at the studio where both functional and decorative ceramics are created. This will be an opportunity to learn some of the processes the artist specializes in. Next we head to one of two wonderful local creameries, either Round Mountain Creamery or Looking Glass Creamery. Round Mountain Creamery is a picturesque dairy goat farm where they raise both Alpine and La Mancha goats with love and produce Grade A goat's milk and fresh goat cheeses. Visit the milking parlor, meet the goats, see the bottling and cheese making operations and enjoy a cheese tasting.
