In this busy age we all have demands on our time - both visitors and artists have full schedules...  That’s part of the 'why' Art Connections customizes art tours individually... based on your interests, your time frame and which artists are available for a visit.

We also know that everyone who considers a tour has different thoughts on what they'd enjoy seeing.  Maximize your visit by planning with Sherry. Having worked with so many of the artists in Western NC, she can accommodate participant requests and find options to suit each tour group.

Tours are curated...

Art Connections Tours are curated and led by Sherry Masters, former gallery buyer and manager with extensive connections to artists in Western North Carolina.

A native of the area, Masters has spent almost thirty years building relationships and promoting fine craft artisans in the region and across the country.  Western North Carolina artists are among the most talented in the nation and Sherry is passionate about sharing why this is true with those who wish to learn more.  By curating small group tours to private or often remote studio locations, Sherry offers a new service for art lovers visiting Asheville and the surrounding region.

Perspective tour

This half-day tour includes visits to three artist’s studios. The time allows for driving, and opportunities when you’ll want to stay a little longer to savor what you see.  The tour perspectives that can be enjoyed are: downtown Asheville and surrounding areas; the River Arts District; west Asheville, and north Asheville.  In other words, we stay close to heart of downtown.  The Perspective Tour is a wonderful introduction to the art scene of the area. We select artists based on YOUR interests and provide a unique point of view.  Along the way, Sherry Masters shares insider details about other places in the area you might want to experience on your own.

The “Perspective” Tour is a half-day tour -  3.5 to 4 hours
$65 per person

Discover tour

This full-day tour allows for exploring more of the region of Western North Carolina. We will visit at least four studios, and depending on the area, we may have time for five studios!  Discover options include adventuring out of Asheville into neighboring towns and communities -- or -- staying in close and seeing more in and around downtown Asheville. This tour includes lunch in an independent venue which will allow time to connect and talk more about the history and present day art scene in Western NC.  The Discover tour gives the serious art collector a chance to gain access to premiere artists in rural, lovely settings.  Although the tour is not just for serious collectors, be aware that some participants have become collectors!
